First impressions
The dining ambience was extremely casual with simple table seating. The staff were attentive and friendly. They have an open kitchen concept so we were able to smell the aroma of the hambagu being freshly grilled which made the wait for food feel longer! But our food came out very soon within 10 to 15 minutes.
You can either get your order as a-la carte option or a set, while on weekdays they offer lunch sets suitable for the working crowd. The hambagu comes in different flavours too, ranging from the classic, to cheese, and even durian!
What we ordered
- Deluxe Donburi Set (Double beef patty over rice) – RM38.90
- Signature Donburi Set (Single pork patty over rice) – RM27.90
Our review
The patties were tender, juicy, and flavorful. It had a good balance of lean meat and fat, so it didn’t taste too fatty. It’s also topped with radish as a refreshing side. The rice serving was generous, and tasted extremely rich with the raw pasteurized egg yolk mixed into it. Each mouthful of all ingredients together was heavenly.
The side dishes are mostly pickled dishes, which served as good contrasts to the overall richness of the dish, so we found ourselves going for it again after a quick pickle-breather. Not to mention, a citrusy sauce is also served which pairs great with the patty.
It’s a simple dish done extremely well, and don’t be fooled by the quaint bowls that the food is served in. We walked away satisfy, and eager to be back again!
