With the rise of fitness brand options in Malaysia, Anytime Fitness vs Celebrity Fitness as a debate remains, as two of them are the most popular commercial gyms in the scene.
These two brands stand out as they have many branches across Malaysia, especially in the Klang Valley area, and their offerings are suitable for both beginners and fitness experts.
Despite the similarities that they share, there are still some major differences between the gyms which I will share below. Anytime Fitness Malaysia Overview
Anytime Fitness is a gym that focuses on strength and functional training. It has over 5000 branches worldwide and over 50 in Malaysia.
All their branches are open 24 hours daily, and with one membership you’ll be able to access any gym in Malaysia, or if you’re travelling, the world. They offer a wide range of equipment, lifestyle services, gym amenities.

Celebrity Fitness Malaysia Overview
Celebrity Fitness is a commercial gym that offers a wide array of workout options, including strength training, functional training, group classes, and personal training classes. It first originated in Jakarta, Indonesia then grew across Southeast Asia.
In 2017, Celebrity Fitness merged with Fitness First but they still operate the brands separately. That’s why Celebrity Fitness also offers a “dual brand membership” which you can read more about below.

Anytime Fitness vs Celebrity Fitness Malaysia
Locations
Anytime Fitness: Anytime Fitness has over 50 gyms in Malaysia, and have locations in shopping malls or neighbourhood shop lots
Celebrity Fitness: Celebrity Fitness has just around 20 gyms in Malaysia, and are mainly located in shopping malls
Operating hours
Anytime Fitness: As the name goes, the gym is accessible anytime, 24 hours, 7 days a week
Celebrity Fitness: Each branch has different operating hours, which typically range from 6am or 7am to 9pm or 10pm
Equipment
Both gyms have free weights, squat racks, functional training spaces, cardio machines, weight cabled machines. Depending on branches, some gyms may even have spin bikes for classes.
Group classes and personal trainers
Both gyms offer group classes and personal training services. Celebrity Fitness however has class bookings integrated into its app, while Anytime Fitness classes are on a walk-in basis with its schedule announced on each branch’s social media accounts.
Amenities
While both gyms have water refilling, body measurement, and shower amenities, Celebrity Fitness stands out slightly with some of its extra offerings.
Celebrity Fitness provides a big towel for any gym members who check in while Anytime Fitness does not. For some bigger branches such as Main Place and Mid Valley, a pool is available too.

Anytime Fitness: Offers one package only that allows access to all Anytime Fitness gyms worldwide
Celebrity Fitness: Basic package only allows access to one home gym. To get access to more gyms, a higher package of STAR or VIP is available. They also offer dual gym membership (Access to all Celebrity Fitness and Fitness First gyms) and triple gym membership (Access to all Celebrity Fitness, Fitness First, and FireFit Studio gyms)

Anytime Fitness: 6-months or 12-months contract available
Celebrity Fitness: 1-month, 4-months, or 12-months contract available
Anytime Fitness vs Celebrity Fitness membership price
Anytime Fitness: For a 12-month contract, prices begin at RM195 per month. There is also an initial joining fee and a fee for the key fob. You may find the full breakdown here
